Wednesday, Nov 19: Famous Game Analysis Night. We analyze a brilliant, short game by a world champion to uncover positional secrets.
Saturday, Nov 22: Surbiton Knight's Tournament (SPECIAL EVENT: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM). A friendly, graded competition for all levels.

Dec 11 – Jan 13: CLOSED. Winter Holiday Break. The club is closed for the Christmas and New Year period.
Wednesday, Jan 14, 2026: Spring Term Begins: Opening Strategy Masterclass. Focus on rapid development, central control, and avoiding common opening traps.
Wednesday, Jan 21: The Value of the Pieces: Positional Play. Deep dive into pawn structure and piece coordination. Learn when to trade and when to keep pieces.
Wednesday, Jan 28: Calculated Risk: Sacrifices and Attacks. Training session on tactical sacrifices for long-term positional advantage. How to calculate deep combinations.
Wednesday, Feb 4: Mid-Term Review & Blitz Tournament. Fun, quick-fire matches to test knowledge from the first half of the term. Prizes for the fastest thinkers.
Wednesday, Feb 11: Defensive Play and King Safety. Essential defense skills. Learn how to protect your King and create counter-chances when under pressure.
Feb 12 – Feb 22: CLOSED. Half-Term Break. The club is closed for the half-term holiday.
Wednesday, Feb 25: Term Resumes: Advanced Endgames. Focus on complex endgames, including opposition and triangulation, vital skills for competitive play.
Wednesday, Mar 4: The Power of the Pawn Break. Specialized training on how and when to use pawn breaks to create weaknesses in the opponent's position.
Wednesday, Mar 11: Chess Master Q&A and Simul. Special Event: Students play simultaneous games against the coach, followed by a live analysis and Q&A session.
Wednesday, Mar 18: Final Term Grading Tournament. Tournament: An assessed, graded competition for all students. Excellent preparation for external events.
Wednesday, Mar 25: End of Term Celebration & Awards. Fun chess variants, refreshments, and the Spring Term Prizegiving ceremony.
Mar 26 onwards: CLOSED. Easter Holiday. The club is closed until the Summer Term begins.
